Feeling bleh

Stop looking so damn happy cake! Mocking me with your happiness. I'll have none of that! UNACCEPTABLE!!

Er... um... yeah so hey, how's it going there? Me? Well, not so well. Just not... feelin' it today folks. This might be a short post.

A few weeks ago my dad and I went to c2e2, and while someday in the future I do plan on blogging about such, today I shall only share a tiny bit. While wandering the expo, we stumbled across a stall that was selling swords. Which, you know, are cool. But then my dad saw the Bat'leth. A Bat'leth, for those who did not click the link to the wiki, is a Klingon battle weapon. (Star Trek) Apparently, upon first seeing a Bat'leth, (Sometime during the series The Next Generation) my dad wanted one. But at the time, was unable to find one that was affordable. It got thrown on to the "maybe someday" list, and lost for years... until c2e2. He saw it there, and originally dismissed it, thinking it would still be too expensive. But lo and behold, this particular one was within his price range, and he was able to get his "maybe someday".  He was so excited to get it. He sent a mass email to all his friends about it, along with a picture. This one:

About a week later he made a stand for it to sit on his desk:

And this past Friday, while Mingo and I were wandering through a thrift store, we came across a Klingon bank. It was decided that this needed to come home with me, to sit by the Bat'leth. When my dad was out of his room, I snuck it in.

Somehow, I felt he might notice it pretty quickly, but eh. He did. He liked it and was surprised we found one at a thrift store. He also decided that my initial decision to stick him right in front of the Bat'leth was the right one, and so the Klingon dude shall stay right there. lol. I'm gonna be honest here, while TNG was probably my favorite Star Trek series, (Though I don't think I ever gave Deep Space Nine a chance) I cannot personally identify this Klingon. It could be Worf I guess. Actually, it most likely IS Worf, as he's sort of a main character on that show, but I'm afraid I might be wrong. What if it's some other random Klingon?  Meh.

Anyhoo, check out this dude's hair:

We were at Denny's Friday night, and the dude's hair really bothered me. From afar, where I was, (I zoomed majorly for this picture) it looked almost like an ugly faux fur hat. Ha. I really wish I'd gotten a picture of one of his friends. Guy was wearing a pair of skin tight pants that were two different kinds of plaid material, like half and half... except for one section right on a butt cheek, where it was leopard print. Wow. Talk about sexy. (that last sentence is major sarcasm, just in case anyone was wondering.)

OH NOES it's so windy out it's tearing down my Finding Nemo poster! MAYDAY!! MAYDAY!!!!
Phew. Crisis averted.

Last picture to share:
It's a bunny. Ha. Bunny was chillin' outside Denny's when we left.

That night, around 2am, Mingo, Trishie and I went to the playground just across the way. And played. Seriously. I haven't actually played on a playground since like...   high school. lol. But that was like, 8 years ago! I'm so sore right now. Not used to physical activity. Ha.

So yesterday I mentioned I was a Psych fan. I looove that show. It's like, number three on my list of favorite shows. (1 being NCIS and 2 being Castle. And we're not counting Firefly, because this list is for shows that are still around.) And I was soooo looking forward to seeing the new season start up in the summer! (Their season finale was last December.)  But nooooo. Apparently, stupid effin' USA has decided to move the damned premiere to fall! What the heck?! So mean. So mean.

Okay, ending with the song stuff.

day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep

Aw man... I um... used to know one... shoot. The problem is, I don't have it. I saved it once in a playlist that I don't think I have anymore... I can't remember the name of it, I know it was inspired by the movie Twilight and it's from a couple years ago... and nowadays, you search "song inspired by twilight" on Youtube, and you get a whooooole lot of results. BAH! I can't remember the name of it! This will drive me crazy now....

YESSSSS! I REMEMBER! HOORAY! I WIN! *jigs*

Kat Tingey - Undone

Now don't hate the song just cuz you hate the fact that it's inspired by Twilight. It's a beautiful song.

Dammit. I think I have to take down my Nemo poster. If I just close my window it will get waaay too hot in here. Drat it all.

Tagged

Aw, look at the poor sad cookie! Okay, so my loverly BEDA buddy Joyfulgirl42 has tagged me. For those whom may or may not be familiar with "tag", this means that I am forced with the threat of death to answer the same questions that she answered in her beda post 7. Since she'd tweeted me this idea a couple days back and I actually had the questions copied on my to-do list, I find myself not having a problem with complying.

1. Name a book you would take on a long flight?
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. No, not because it's a good book, nor because it's on Oprah's book list... because I was given it as a Christmas present a couple years back and still have yet to read it. I might bring HP 3 or 7 with me though, just in case.

2. What is your guilty pleasure?  HA! I have.... way... way too many guilty pleasures. High School Musical, Twilight, Hair Battle Spectacular, Monster energy drinks...

3. Name three characters from any book, you wish you could be friends with? Fred and George Weasley, and Alice Cullen (um, hello person-who-sees-future, would you help win the lottery?)

4. What's your shoes size?8 1/2-9 1/2

5. If you could write your own book, name the title, and a brief synopsis.
Unexpected Adventure
The story of a girl in the twenty first century who gets transported in to - surprise! - a jar of pickle juice and drowns. Or... um... yeah you know... whatever. I totally spoiled the ending. Dammit.

6. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
I don't think I have one anymore. Used to be strawberry, then butter pecan, for a short time it was "sweet cream", and now... eh. Cookies and cream maybe?

7. What book are you currently reading?
I'm not really reading anything... technically speaking, I'm currently about halfway through The Mystery of Miss Tree and Mr. E. by Dan Jack, and likewise with Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. Eventually, I shall finished both, and start reading regularly again, because I have plenty of books on my to-read list. And ones I haven't even added to my to-read list yet.

8. Best YA series you've ever read? Um... Tomorrow, When the War Began. Maybe.

9. What is your best physical attribute? The tip of my right pinky. Or was it my left? I can't remember anymore.

10. Do you like manga or comics, if so name your favorite series? Not a fan, though I bought five comics and a graphic novel at c2e2, so I'm going to try to read them. Though... uh... yeah. We'll see. #pickedsomewinners

11. Do you sleep on your side or your stomach? Stomach

12. Favorite book mark? My favorite favorite bookmark is gone forever. I lost it. It was a one dollar bill that was all shrunk and little and adorable. So now my favorite is my book rug. (I have the blue one)

13. What song are you currently listening in your Ipod? Okay, I don't use my ipod often. Normally, when I listen to music, it's via a song playlist I have saved on Youtube. The song that is currently playing is called
Dogberry -24 Hours (major James Roday fan here, LOVE Psych.)

Any Psych fans out there? I'm also a huge fan of Lassiter. Here's a short vid of Tim Omundson and Dulé Hill covering 24 Hours by Dogberry. lol. *giggles hysterically*

14. Worst summer job you've ever had? eh? summer... job... um... well, I guess technically I worked at JoAnn Fabrics during the summerish. As a direct result, to this day, I hate the smell of cinnamon and pine together. It makes me sick to my stomach, I hold my breath at Christmastime when walking through those damn seasonal sections.

15. What's your favourite band, or type of music? My favorite band is Bon Jovi. WOOT. *Starts singing a loud and awful rendition of Always*   My favorite type of music is... pop. Yep. Anything that's popular at the time normally has a reason to be popular, and normally I agree. There are exceptions of course, always always exceptions, but for the most part, yeah. And when I say "pop", I mean the entire genre of pop, meaning what was "pop" in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and onward.

There. 15 questions. 15 answers.  Blah. And now I get to tag someone right? We'll go with Mingo, because she's my only other BaEDA buddy.

And on to that song challenge... day 09 - a song that you can dance to

Ha. That's another easy one. I'm easily prone to dance. Badly, but dance all the same. Unless I'm at a club apparently. Then I just sway awkwardly. Woot! Let's pick a few random ones here...

Aaron Carter ft. Flo Rida- Dance With Me

Okay, I mentioned I was an Aaron Carter fan. I still am. He's awesome.

Erasure - Always

Yeah, I played robot unicorn attack. For a couple hours one day. I sucked terribly at it. Like, really bad. But the song. Oh, the song. Stuck. In. My. Head. And I don't mind at all.

Jupiter Rising - Electropop

A while ago - like, a long while ago, on vside, one of my buddies showed me a video. I thiiink it was a random anime music video, which sounds highly likely. I really can't remember which one. But I do remember it used this song. And I loved it. *dances*

BEDA 8 - too much minecraft

Have you ever skipped sleep for so long you start to feel sick to your stomach? Then you try to go to sleep but you can't because you feel sick to your stomach? That is me. Sick to my stomach. And I should be sleeping. But I'm not. So now lemme talk about stuff.

day 08 - a song that you know all the words to

That's way too easy. I know hundreds of songs. I mean, I've never officially counted, (how do you count something like that??) but I've known all the words to random songs since I was around 7, so I imagine it's piled up. Let's just pick a few then...

Lisa Loeb - Stay

This song was another one me and my grade school bestie, Sarah, tried to memorize. Though I don't think she was as interested in this song. If I remember right, I was the only one to remember it all. Meh. I still like the song. It's pretty.

Hanson - Man From Milwaukee

Hee.... okay, technically, I'm fairly certain I know every word of every song from Hanson's Middle of Nowhere CD, but I thought I'd share just the one.

Okay, seriously, I think I have every BSB song memorized from their first three CDs and a lot of NSYNC song too... so let's just uh.... choose one of those too....

*NSYNC -Somewhere, Someday

I chose this song to share because it's so pretty, and not as well known because it wasn't on one of their CD's, it was on the Pokemon the First Movie soundtrack.

Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman - Elephant Love Medley

From the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Man I love this movie. lol. Just thinking about it makes me want to watch it again. Where'd my copies go...

So I play minecraft, and find myself sucked in to the world for hours upon hours at a time. A couple days ago I wandered on to a small multi player server and had fun wandering for hours. Luckily, I had a buddy with me to help me get unlost. lol. Then I made meself a "tent" in the camp. I chose orange, because it's a happy bright color.

Wolves are a new addition to the game, as is the ability to tame them.

There's my first pup, sitting on my bed, viewed through my door. Hee!

Here's a few shots of the inside of my tent. Along with the addition of another pup.

And then I went and built another little home. A while back I'd made a home similar in a different world, and I liked it so much I thought I'd recreate it.
That's the entrance, there's a hole in the ground that has a ladder that leads to a hallway.

That's a view from above water. There was ice where I built, and I tried to be careful not to disturb it.

Here's a view from inside looking up.

And a couple views of the room itself.

The original room had a different floor. It was multi-colored wool. But I felt that was way too busy, so I went with a more simple, snow floor instead.

I built this place, (That I've named Pickles) on a blank spot of land, so I sure hope I chose an okay spot to build it. I mean, it would be just my luck if I built it in a spot that was supposed to be reserved for some other something, so Pickles would have to be removed. Meh. We'll see we'll see.

Yeah, I had fun in minecraft. But that has to stop. Or at least be reined in a bit, or a lot - because minecraft is currently the reason I've been up so long I feel sick. And so I end the post, in the hopes I will be able to sleep. Good night!

Keys and Felecidad

I am a browncoat.  A major fan of the series Firefly. Me dad is too. The other day, me dad got us Firefly keychains. I've been meaning to downsize my keys for a while now, they're so big, and I only use two of the keys anyway, so this Firefly keychain is the perfect excuse. But it was so cute in its box that I didn't take it out until now. And now, I shall spam you with pictures of my cute keychain.

Teehee. And now to show a before and after of my keys. Before:

And after:

OMG my keys seem so empty now. LOL. I'm thinking I might want one more keychain for it, but haven't decided on what. Maybe I'll go keychain shopping someday.

And now I shall share a gif:

I love Toby Turner, and someone named GuiPup turned one of his lovely dances in to a gif. Heee.

Moving on...

day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event

Alrighty, I hate to use Usher again, but meh, sue me. He happens to fall in to this category as well.

Usher - Nice and Slow

This song's lyrics are naughty. Which is why I felt personally that it was an inappropriate song to play at an 8th grade graduation. But alas, it was popular, and so it was our last song at the dance. I danced to it with my first boyfriend - or at least, the one I tend to count as my first boyfriend. (Technically, my "first" boyfriend was a friend I sat next to on the bus, and kissed on the cheek once... and then he moved away and didn't even tell me. So technically... we never even broke up.) So I remember my 8th grade graduation when I hear this song.

Brand New Heavies - Midnight at the Oasis

Technically, this event happened everyday at midnight PST... but you know, whatever. It was on There, a virtual world I loved dearly that went out of business last year. MATO (Midnight at the Oasis) was a gathering of a group in There called Wordgrove. We would congregate around a bell that chimed midnight, then proceeded to play that song. Occasionally it would play the original, which was more mellow and slower, but I preferred this version, as did many others - it was easier to dance to.

There's us by the bell. (The red and green thinger)

And there's us dancing. Well, most of us dancing. Sometimes it was hard to catch everyone dancing. lol.  But yep. There ya go.

Okay, so, if you've been reading my blog, you are likely already aware that I am a part of a Youtube collab channel called FiveAwesomeBenpals. Thursdays are my days, so I reckon I will share my videos here every Thursday.

This week, we were to "explain our name". And we were free to make things up. So, naturally, that's what I did. My video is about the story behind my middle name, Felecidad.

I very much enjoyed making this video. The crude pictures were fun to draw, and I managed to record my words in one take. When I make videos that require just my voice, the audio, I still record it using my camera, because the mic I have for my 'puter sucks big time.

somewheres and Harry Potter

Hello. Today will be a quick post I think. I hadn't planned on sleeping so long. lol.

day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere

Hmmm.... oh okeys, I got this... wait for it....

Alright, so I started thinking of "somewheres" and decided to think back to the earliest "somewhere" I could think of that relates to a song.

Roxette - It Must Have Been Love

I must have been four years old. Possibly five, but five was when we moved, and in the "somewhere" it was summer, and I turn five in winter... so I must have been four. Ha. My parents had a video camera, though I can't remember how. Borrowed maybe? And they decided to pull out our kiddie pool in to our front yard and video tape us playing. They turned the radio on (B96) and this was one of the songs that played. When I hear it I can remember sitting in the inflatable pool, feel the cold water, the smell of cold water from a hose. I can see the little fishies on the pool, and I can hear my mom talking to my dad.

The video has since died. This is a new discovery. I popped it in for a benpals video (the same one I shared yesterday to show Sarah) and was very upset to find that it was gone. But back when it WAS still watchable, I'd always get an eerie feeling when I saw that part. As soon as the song started, I'd remember it all, while watching myself on the video. Like I was both a part of that memory, and watching from afar.

Usher - You Make Me Wanna...

When this song first came out, ('97) I was in Des Plaines. My friend Czarina was just introducing me to boy bands, (Backstreet Boys and Hanson were just popping up. So was Aaron Carter - who's a brother of a boy band member, but he was mainly popping up in the Philippines... Czarina was filipino so she would have video tapes of performances by them on various filipino shows)  and all I ever heard from her when the subject of music was brought up was various forms of "Backstreet Boys BSB Nick Carter Aaron Carter Hanson Taylor OMG". (Except back then it was oh my god because we hadn't fallen in to the ways of text speak yet.)  EXCEPT for this song. She thought Usher looked so sexy in the video. She loved the song too. She would sing it at recess. And try to do the dance moves. And so when I hear that song (which is much less often than I hear the first) I'm transported to recess at North Elementary. Not always that specific moment of her singing it, but recess itself. I would remember playing basketball and swinging my classmates around in circles, only to let them go flying in a random direction. (er.... I was um... pretty strong back then. And so that was a popular game. Fun for me too. rofl) Ahhhh.... memories.

Okay, I get distracted when writing blog posts. This isn't new. Blog posts tend to take three times as long because of it. I just wandered off to read Joyfulgirl42's beda for today, which was how she first discovered Harry Potter. I shall now share my story.

I can't remember. ROFL. I can't remember when I first heard about HP. My friends were all huge fans, and I couldn't be bothered by it. But then, when the first movie came out, a couple of my friends wanted to go, and I decided I wanted to too. I borrowed one of their HP1 books, and read the entire thing that night when I came home from school. I had to - we were seeing the movie the next night. I thought it was alright, but nothing too special. I think honestly, my brain was rebelling. My friends were all like "OMG READ THE FIRST ONE AND YOU'LL BE HOOKED!"  so naturally my brain was like "No! Ah heee heee heee haaa haa!!"

So that's how it went. I would read the next Harry Potter book only when the next movie was coming out.  But then came the time right around when the fifth movie was coming out. I was wandering a store at around 10:30pm one night with a friend, and saw a line forming. The seventh book was coming out at midnight. And I thought... eh, what the heck? I'm here anyway. So she and I waited in line. She wasn't planning on buying the book, but we both took one anyway, and I gave the extra to the very last person in line. This person was in the middle of saying something like "Oh man, I hope they don't sell out by the time we get there!"  when I walked up to her with the book and said "Merry christmas!"  She looked confused, then confirmed I was serious, and proceeded to thank me. That's when it got a bit awkward, because we were now both headed towards the same end of the store - me just a few steps ahead - so she spent the time thanking me as I walked. Ha. But that was the first book I bought.

Then came the dilemma. I had only read books 1-5. I now had 7. Would I be able to wait to read it? No. I had the frickin' book. So I borrowed someone's 6th, and read 6 and 7 before the 5th movie came out. Then, shortly after seeing the movie, because it had been ages since I'd read the first, I read all 7 books. And then again. I realized my rebellious young self was a stupid git, and that I'd been missing out on a great series. It took a while, but eventually I would come to own my own copies of 1-6 as well. My goal is for all of them to be in hardcover. (I think my 6 is paperback, so I'm close.)
