Mariah Carey OPI Liquid Sand Nail Lacquer Pics and Review

A few weeks back I won a giveaway that gave me these OPI - Mariah Carey Liquid Sand Mini Collection.

What a great chance for a review!

These nail polishes feature

"liquid sand - OPI's newest innovation in texture. Dries to a textured matte finish infused with reflective glints of light."

The colors included are Get Your Number, Can't Let Go, The Impossible, and Stay the Night.

Here they are on my nails:

And now each one close up....

My favorite color by far is Stay the Night - I love the black color with the red glitter in it. Once I put it on, I also liked Get Your Number. The Impossible looks red in the bottle, and it was what I was expecting until I put it on and read the description that I realized it was a fuchsia. lol. And Can't Let Go is a nice purple color. I like how uniform the purple color of the polish is to the glitter. The purples match so well.

The directions say to apply a base coat, then two coats of color, and to not use a top coat. My nails were achieved using 3-4 coats.  The "liquid sand" feature makes the texture of the nail very gritty - like sand, of course. I'm not used to textures other than "smooth" on my nails though, so immediately I didn't think I liked it. I mean, I liked the look, but not the feel.

As a result, on my thumb - which had Stay the Night on it - I put two coats of clear on top.

So here's my thumb in the top coat, above my third finger, with no top coat.

I left the other ones untouched and eventually got used to the sandy texture though. I now think the texture is pretty darn neat.

The polishes themselves are gorgeous colors. And because they're glitter, they last a long time. I recommend these if you like glitter, and especially if you like texture, in your nails polishes. :)
