Candy I've never tried before - Skinny Cow, Snerdles, Bitzies and Kabang

So a few weeks back (I say that a lot. lol.) Skinny Cow had a giveaway for a free box of their new Divine Filled Chocolates. I managed to snag a coupon. I got it in the mail on Monday, and picked up a box on Wednesday.

They have two kinds, Peanut Butter, and Caramel.
Of course I picked caramel. There was a ton of the peanut butter ones at the store, and only a few caramel ones left - I had to reach all the way back to grab one. lol

They're 130 calories per pouch, with three candies in each pouch. Each pouch is 28.3g. I don't honestly know why these are "skinny". In comparison, a 45g Caramello candy bar is 220 calories.  That's 4.59 calories per gram in the Skinny Cow, versus 4.88 calories per gram in the Caramello.

The only reasoning I could diving to call it "skinny" is because it comes in smaller packaging than a normal candy bar - almost half the size of a Caramello bar. (I compare it to Caramello because those too are just chocolate and caramel) Plus they're three separate candies inside, rather than one bar that separates in to four or five chocolates. Mayhaps this is more to trick your brain in to wanting less than actually being a low calorie food.

The reason I go in to all that detail? Because these candies do not taste like diet food. They're quite delicious and taste like normal caramel filled chocolates which made me look in to the details behind the calories. lol.

The next new candies I've had? Super Mario Snerdles. These are not new, just new to me. I found them whilst wandering around a Party City.
 They're candied fruit strips.
They come in different colors, which are different flavors... possibly. They all have the same ingredients, so I don't know if they are different flavors, or if the colors are tricking my mind in to thinking they're different flavors. When I first got some (5 for a dollar) I bit in to a boogery green colored one, and my guy bit in to a red one. He asked me what flavor mine was, and it took me a minute to decide it was apple. I told him so, then asked him what his was. His response? "Red is some sort of fruit flavor". ROFL. THANKS for that highly informative description.   They feature red or green mushrooms, stars, and coins. (I personally thought the coins looked kind of lame, so I only picked up mushrooms and stars)

As for the taste and texture... they kind of remind me of nerds ropes, because the candies on them kinda taste like nerds. But the fruit strips are nowhere near as gummy as a nerds rope. The fruit strips themselves kind of remind me of fruit jerky (if you've ever had that before) except it's a lot softer and not as jerky. I guess they're hard for me to explain. lol.

The next candy I have to share is called Bitzies. I also found these at Party City.

They had a few different flavors but I opted for strawberry. These are tasty, they're essentially just flavored candy canes cut down to bite-sized pieces. I like that. Makes them a bit easier to eat than sucking on a candy cane. lol.

And the last candy I have to share is Kabang.

These little guys are delicious AND claim to give you energy! I've only ever tried Cherry, because the other flavors don't sound appealing to me. There are four flavors to choose from - Cherry, Apple, Grape, and Watermelon. But oooh that cherry! I plan on giving the other flavors a try, just to see. If you've ever had Zots before, these taste eerily similar. They're a hard candy with a fizzy flavored center. One candy also claims to have 100% of the recommended daily allowance of Vitamins B6, B12, and C plus Ginseng and no caffeine. It does feel like it gives me a tiny boost, but I don't know if it was the candy, or the excitement that it tastes like zots. lol.

I have to say though, even if this didn't do what it claims, even if it didn't provide energy, I would still eat it. Because it's a flipping Zot. It was hard to get though. I found it first at a Walgreens, but two other Walgreens, a gas station, and a CVS did not have it. So that was a bummer. I had to go back to the original place I saw it to grab more.Worth it though. It's tasty. :)

And that's all the candy I have to share for today! Gotta wander off to C2E2! Ta!
